FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included when I book Rushwood for a Saturday wedding?

Saturday weddings include exclusive use of the barn and grounds on Friday and Saturday, and the guest house from Thursday through Sunday. Tables, chairs, string lights, and draping are included. Bar service is in-house. The bridal suite and ADA-accessible restrooms are on-site. Day-of coordination and end-of-night cleanup are available as add-ons or are included in the Experience and Estate Weekend packages.

What’s the difference between a Saturday and a Sunday wedding?

Saturday weddings are a full weekend: guest house from Thursday through Sunday, barn and grounds exclusively on Friday and Saturday. Sunday weddings use the same barn and grounds on your wedding day; guest house access is available the night before, the night of, or both. Pricing is different for each format. A tour is the best place to walk through both.

What do I arrange on my own?

Catering (any licensed, insured caterer is welcome), photography and videography, DJ or live music, florals and additional decor, and any specialty rentals like linens or lounge furniture. We have vendor recommendations if you want them.

Do you provide bar service?

Yes. Bar service is in-house — we don’t require a separate vendor. We offer open bar (Beer/Wine/Seltzer, House Liquor, or Premium Liquor tiers), hybrid, and guest-paid/cash bar formats. Signature cocktails are available and quoted separately. Contact us for full pricing.

Is day-of coordination included?

It depends on your package. Day-of coordination is included in The Rushwood Experience and The Estate Weekend. It’s available as an add-on to other packages — either on its own ($1,000) or as part of the Enhanced Support bundle ($1,500).

What is the guest house?

A five-bedroom private retreat directly beside the barn. Full kitchen, wraparound deck, spa room with built-in hot tub and sauna. Included with Saturday wedding weekends. Also books independently for non-wedding stays through Airbnb.

Is the barn heated? What about summer events?

The barn has commercial heating for cold-weather events. For warmer months, the barn opens up — large doors, ceiling fans, and natural cross-ventilation. It is not climate-controlled. Come tour and we can walk through your specific month, timing, airflow, and what tends to work best.

How many guests can the barn hold?

Up to 170 for dinner with room for the dance floor and bar. For larger groups, the deck and grounds can be tented — we’ve hosted well over 200 that way. For ceremonies, the gazebo seats up to 110, the deck handles up to 200, and the lower meadow works for larger groups. The best way to plan your layout is to walk the property.

What if the weather is bad for the ceremony?

The barn can be configured for indoor ceremonies, with seating on the main floor and the wedding party entering from the staircase above. It’s a solid backup. We can walk through the options on your tour.

How do I schedule a tour?

Tours are by appointment. Text or call 585-282-7733, or use the form on the Schedule a Tour page. Lauren will get back to you directly.
